23.8.-4.10.1999
Sorry! I was to busy to write a new post every day for the last few weeks, so here comes a short summary:
23.8.: Kennedy Space Center -> astonishing, interesting, overwhelming!
24.8.: Kissimmee -> Fairfex: We stayed at Tanja’s aunt, uncle and cousin and we had such a great time. First time we slept in different rooms until we arrived in America
25.8.: Exploring Reston, Virginia, and relaxing ….
26.-27.8.: Washington, D.C.: great town, lots to see and to do, museums, Arlington Cemetery, Washington Monument, White House, Congress ….
28.8.: “Family”-trip into the Shenandoah Valley -> NP and the National Bridge Caverns -> great experience
29.-31.8.: Reston -> New York: The Big Apple – love at first sight! We explored Manhattan nearly completely by foot: Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Empire State Building, World Trade Center -> and I had my first hot dog
31.8.-3.9.: Niagara Falls. Just great!
3.-8.9.: Milwaukee. We stayed at Tanja’s former teacher Heiko and his wife Andrea. We visited the University, did some inline skating along the Lake Michigan, celebrated Labor Day and watched our 1st Baseball game – life! It was unbelievable!
8.-10.9.: Rapid City: Mount Rushmore Tour (including Cluster NP and Crazy Horse) and we fed the chipmunks
11.-12.9.: Yellowstone National Park. My 2nd love at first sight!
13.-14.9.: Denver and the Rocky Mountain NP. The NP wasn’t as interesting and exciting as the Yellowstone, but we had a lot of fun as we were travelling since Rapid City with our 2 crazy Aussie girls Amanda and Jen
15.-16.9.: Las Vegas. What a town! Absolutely the craziest place I’ve ever seen ….
17.-24.9.: National Parks: Grand Canyon (3rd love!), Bryce Canyon, Arches, Monument Valley (freedom!) -> wonderwonderwonderful!
25.9.: Las Vegas again
26.-28.9.: San Francisco. 4th love! Just loved it …. Fisherman’s Wharf, Pier 39, Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, Cable Cars, the flair, the people, the harbour ….
28.-29.9.: Highway #1. The first street I fell in love with ….
29.9.-4.10.: Los Angeles. You either love or hate the town. I loved it! Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Mann’s Chinese Theater, the Walk of Fame, Universal Studios, the beaches …. hope to see you soon
